I haven't done what I'm doing right now in a long time. I'm just sitting here listening to music, no t.v. nothing else on just music. I listen to music everyday but I forget sometimes how influential music really is. I downloaded a bunch of older stuff today for example "lean on me" by Al Green and random stuff by the temptations.
I even went as far as getting some backstreet boys and 98 degrees. I remember when no one judged you for listening to music. Granted I was a kid, who judges a kid on listening to teenie bopper music. Which is I was when that music was coming out (BSB not AL green lol) and i really don't care what anyone says no one came out with as many good love songs as the backstreet boys unless you want to go back 15-20 years then you'll find some.
I love music, the beautiful thing about music is there is a song for you no matter what mood you are in. There are songs you attach to memories that you could go 10 years with out hearing that song but when you do you associate that memory almost instantly.
I hate it though when you have that song that you associated to a good memory then that good thing was taken from you or left or it wasn't meant to be or what ever the case maybe and then that song is then taken from you because you don't want to think about that memory. We all have at least one of those songs.
We all have that favorite song too, mine (as well as a lot of you as well) would be a toss up between a bunch of songs. Easily some of my favorites are Nothing Else Matters by Metallica and then flip that coin and you get Just to See You Smile by Tim McGraw. Two very different songs but I could listen to them for hours. Just some of them songs you can close your eyes lean your head back and let the world slip away.
Its an amazing thing, music. For the reason that I've been listening to music (of my choosing) for about 20 years and every day new music comes out. That is AMAZING to me the creativity of artists around the world. More genres then I will ever be able to name which is something else that's amazing to me.
Like I will hear a song and think to my self god how can anyone like that song and some one will, someone will love that song. It's simply incredible that music can literally change who you are or can bring back to a day years prior or make you dream of the future.
There are songs I can remember exactly where i was and what i was doing when i heard it. How mind blowing is that.
Well I think you get what I'm driving at. Music is powerful, it doesn't judge you. What else on this planet can you say that is that pure.
Well I'll call it a day for today. I think i made up for not posting yesterday.
